potato bonda Recipe: (Category: South Indian Tiffins)

Ingredients: gram flour-1 cup
rice flour-1/2 cup
chilli powder-1/2 tsp
hing-a small pinch
oil-for frying
salt to taste
for making potato stuffing:
4 to 5 potatoes
onion-2
mustard seeds-for seasoning
chana dal-1 tsp
urad dal-1 tsp
cashews-10 to 15 pieces
coriander leaves
kari patta
turmeric powder-1 tsp
salt to taste
Method: Wash and boil potatoes.peel the skin
of potatoes and mash them.keep it
aside.
In a mixing bowl add gram dal,rice
flour,hing,chilli powder and make it a
batter.
Heat oil in a kadai and season it with
mustard seeds,chana dal,urad dal.Add
onions and fry it till the onions reaches
golden brown.Add a pinch of
turmeric powder ,coriander leaves salt
and kari patta.Now fry the cashews
and add it to the potato curry.Make
the balls with potato curry and dip it
in the gram flour batter and deep fry
them in oil.Potato bonda is now ready
to serve.Serve it with coconut
chutney or sauce.
