Chakkera Pongali Recipe: (Category: Indian Appetizers)

Ingredients: Fine Rice (not basmati) : 2
cups
Green gram (Moong Daal):
1/2 cup (Not with husk)
Milk : 2 cups
Water : 4 cups
Ghee : 1/2 cup
Cashew : 50 gms
Dry Grapes : 50 gms
Sugar/Jagery (Bellamu) : 2
cups
Small fresh coconut slices :
1/4 cup
Method: Wash the Rice and green gram
(yellow color), add water and milk to
it.
Put it in a pressure cooker keep for 4
vissils.
Mean while...Fry the coconut
pieces,cashew nuts and dry grapes
seperately in two spoons of ghee.
When the rice is done,add
sugar/smashed jagery (see tips for
jagery usage).
Keep the vessel on low flame, Mix
thoroughly until the sugar/jagery
melts completely.
Then add the fried ingredients.
Add the remaining ghee to the stuff.
Again mix well. Serve hot.
